Course Overview

This curriculum series covers the basics of managing a NetWare 4.11 network. Using NetWare administrative tools to set up, managing and using basic network services, including file systems, network printing, security and E-mail will be covered. This series covers the same content as Novell's instructor-led course 520, and the test objectives for certification exam 50-613.

This series is intended for networking professionals who will be responsible for administering NetWare 4.11 networks. Participants should have a working knowledge of DOS and networking technology, or have taken the Networking Technologies Curriculum, course 80201D.

Course Contents

Course Series: Novell IntranetWare: NetWare 4.11 Administration Curriculum, courses 81301, 81302, and 81303

• The first course in this series will help participants identify networking concepts, the networking utilities provided by NetWare 4.11, and the Directory Tree Structure (DTS); load Client 32 software; identify the features of NetWare File System (NFS), and map network and search drives; and process a print job. The second part in this series will show learners how to create user objects, set up a user account, login security, and set up user account restrictions; set up and manage the Network File System (NFS), load a NetWare Loadable Module, and set up network printing. In the third course in this series, participants will learn how to automate the user environment, set up NDS security, manage resources in the directory Tree, and perform additional administrative tasks using NetWare.
