1.0 Project Management Fundamentals
This section covers the fundamental building blocks of what project management really is and what we need to do in our various different roles as members of a project team. Whether you are a project leader or a participant, this section will provide a sound foundational knowledge of what a project is and what needs to be done to make sure the project goals are successfully accomplished.
1.1 Defining Project Management 2.0 Project Management Terms This section will review some of the project management terms that have already been discussed and will also introduce some of the key terms that need to be understood as you utilize Microsoft Project and manage projects throughout the system. 2.1 Project 2003 Terms 3.0 Project 2003 Overview This section begins with an overview of different editions of Project 2003 as well as the capabilities of each. In this section, we will also explore the Project 2003 interface as well as the different views it offers. 3.1 Starting Project 2003 4.0 Creating a Basic Project In this section, we will create a basic project that will involve some very basic items. We will also cover the overall principles and guidelines associated with tracking the progress of a project. 2.1 Overview 3.0 Tracking Your Project This section covers how to track and monitor the progress of a project throughout its fulfillment stage as well as the tools and techniques that make this possible. 3.1 Principles of Tracking 4.0 Calculating Actual Costs In this section, we will cover how to calculate the actual cost associated with a project plan as well as finding items that are unaccounted for and over budget. 4.1 Overview 5.0 Viewing Progress This section covers tracking the progress of a project using some of the many views available in Project 2003.
