Course Overview

The Introduction to XML course will cover the basics of learning how to develop systems using the eXtensible Markup Language (XML). It does not expect the student to master all technologies but is intended as an introductory course to key technologies in the XML domain. You will learn about the components of an XML document the differences between XML and HTML the role of XML in databases and how XML gets incorporated into object oriented programming. This course will also show you how to build an XML document; how to use elements attributes and attribute type applications; and create XML entities. At the end of this course you will be introduced to creating DTD's and XML schemas.
